Pierre-Brice
“Sudan” Smith started studying Martial Arts at the age
of sixteen. First, Tae Kwon Do and then Kung-Fu (Hung
Gar) in which he attained a brown belt. In the year
2000, Pierre-Brice began studying Muay Thai under the
watchful eye of Kru Nestor Marte and Ajarn Prasit Thang
Dong at the Ultimate Gym NY.
In 2003,
Brice moved from New York to Florida and immediately
enrolled at American Top Team to continue his Martial
Arts studies. Brice resumed his Muay Thai training with
the help of Christian Toleque. Furthermore, he began
fine-tuning his boxing skills with Olympic gold
medalist, Howard Davis Jr. 2 years later; Brice began
teaching Muay Thai at punch fitness and the armory.
Throughout
his Martial Arts journey, Brice, fighting under the name
“Sudan Smith”, has accumulated a 9 and 1 record, which
include professional and amateur fights. Furthermore, he
has had the privilege to train with some of the best
fighters in the world such as Hermes Franca, JZ Calcante,
Thiago Alves, Walde Boise and Phillipe Nover to name a
few.
In 2007,
Brice’s passion for Muay Thai led him to the Thailand,
the Muay Thai Mecca. He spent two grueling weeks
training at Jitti Gym, one of the world’s premier Muay
Thai gyms. Brice is passionate about the combat sports.
He truly believes in fighting only in the spirit of
competition or when it is absolutely necessary. As a
fighter, Brice is known for being a technical and
intelligent fighter that believes that skill and
technique will always triumph over brute strength. As a
Muay Thai instructor, his sole purpose and passion is to
see his students improve and achieve there personal.
